Meet Dave!

Dave Yarwood is a Senior Software Engineer who has played an integral part in Kevel’s growth since 2014. He is a member of our campaign management UI and API team!

What do you like most about working at Kevel?

Kevel promotes a wonderful culture of respect and communication. I like the feeling of camaraderie as we solve interesting problems together.

What part of our mission, ‘Take back the Internet’, do you connect with most?

Advertising is the lifeblood of the internet.

People tend to forget and take for granted that most of the websites they visit and services that they use every day on the internet are free - they’re free because of advertising.

However, if a website publisher wants to use one of the major off-the-shelf ad serving solutions, they have to compromise their own creativity and the privacy of their end users. By providing a middle ground between building your own ad server from scratch and using one of those undesirable off-the-shelf solutions, Kevel is enabling publishers to keep the internet free while making advertising more humane for end users.

People hate bad ads getting in the way of their internet experience. Kevel is putting the power back into the hands of the publishers and enabling them to create a better ad experience for their customers.

What do you like to do outside of work and in your free time?

I have twin boys who keep me busy, but outside of that, I'm very passionate about Brazilian jiu-jitsu and participating in community bike rides here in Durham.

I also have an educational background in music and I can play more instruments than I can keep track of. At the moment, I'm playing drums in a synth punk band called Trash Signal.
